Psychiatric Counseling
Many problems that seem psychological may have an underlying organic cause. This is especially true for difficulties such as intense distress, anxiety, depression and headaches. In such cases the client is referred to a psychiatrist and asked for an assessment of possible underlying organic cause. The psychiatrist may recommend medication even if there is no organic cause. Medication support will reduce the negative symptoms and help accelerate the psychological therapy. In such cases, the therapist and the psychiatrist share the responsibility of the client.
